Fresh from successes on plate and in the dancehalls with the
Black Dog, Dust Science returns with fresh blood for 2007 on
the Faith Is Fear EP.
We've been fans of Fabrice Lig for years her at Dust. He's
released an avalanche of great techno on classic labels such
as KMS, 7th City, F-Comm and Playhouse and he's done us
produ with his first release for us. "Access Denied" is a
surging, swinging, darkside monster that's relentlessly tricky
and funky. The Detroit pads are seriously tripped out and
swamped in glitchy beats and stepping hi-hats, and there's
some serious low end; it's a hell of a track.
Regis and Female are responsible for some of the best UK
techno ever made. Here they contribute C/Chaos; performed
live at the Orbit in Leeds, it's simply massive, propelled by
downward twisting strings and utterly slamming, intoxicating
electronic rhythms.
Techno luminaries The 65D Mavericks are renowned for
their driving but innovative techno. "WireTap" is well up to
their high standards. Skittering sub-electro beats and
stop-start melodies make this a sun rise classic.
Wheras Sheffield wunderkind Carl Taylor has given us a
peak time banger of the first order. "Scanner" is an awesome
full-fat techno disco monster and will pulverize dancefloors
across the world.
